This loose fit hoodie is a lifesaver on busy days. The hoodie features a serene landscape print designed by Omar Escalante, which reminds the viewer of the problems of textile production and the disappearance of natural diversity.
The Hoodie has a loose straight cut and a double-lined hood. The generously sized and firm hood has drawstrings made of excess knitting machine yarn to reduce waste. This product features dropped shoulders. The inside material is soft brushed knitted fabric. The hem has an interesting detail: a woven label showing the product’s environmental footprint.
The hoodie is manufactured from recycled cotton and recycled plastic bottles. We do not dye our products; instead, they get their colours from the cotton waste they are made from.
The hoodie is manufactured responsibly in India. The logo is printed in Finland.

Please note that our recycling process is not entirely clinical and our products may contain small amounts of different coloured fibers. In dark colours, fibers of different colours do not stand out, but in light colours they are more easily visible. For us, these little coloured fibers in our fabric are a feature that reminds us of the uniqueness and origin of our products.
Because of our production process, slight differences of shade may occur in fabrics of the same colour. We do not dye our products; the colour of the fabric originates in the colour of the waste fabric used to make it. The sizes of products are sold at varying rates, which is why different sizes of the same product may come from different manufacturing batches. That means that they may also show slight shade differences. We have updated the collar prints and labels on products, and for this reason they can also contain differences across different sizes or products.

Challenging the clothing industry
Collecting and sorting waste
Pure Waste products are made of 100% recycled raw materials. The main raw material, cotton cutting waste, is collected from cut, make and trim (CMT) factories and then sorted by quality and colour.
Each quality and colour batch is mechanically opened into fibres. The colour of the waste defines the colour of the final product. No dyeing is needed.
The mechanically opened cotton waste is mixed with chemically recycled polyester fibres from PET bottles.
The mixed fibres are spun into yarns. This part of the process is the same as when spinning fibres from virgin material.
Knitting and weaving
The yarns are knitted or woven depending on the final use of the fabric.
Depending on the final use of the fabric, the finishing process can include different stages such as compacting, brushing and washing.
This process consists of the cutting, making and trimming of the final product.
Finally, we get sustainable good quality garments that use 99% less water and generate 50% fewer CO2 emissions in the production process than similar products made of virgin materials.
