Product development is an important part of our daily work. Our goal to expand our range of recycled textile materials, be that yarn, fabric or prêt-à-porter. As a small company our opportunities are limited, so we have sought strength through cooperation. In addition to our in-house product development, we have managed to do the product development important to us in various projects we have taken part in.
The aim of the Telaketju project is to promote the sustainable manufacture, use and circulation of textiles. The goal of creating a pioneer in the Finnish textile circular economy is the basis for the work done in Telaketju. The project includes a broad spectrum of companies, research institutes and educational institutes. We have been actively involved in both phases of Telaketju. The first phase began in 2017 and the second began in spring 2019. Thanks to the first phase of Telaketju, we were able to develop the Post Waste fabric, which launched in autumn 2019. NordicBio is a joint Finnish-Swedish project that supports bio-based, recycled fibre alternatives to single-use fibre products, such as hospital sheets. In this project, we have studied the cleaning of post-consumer textile-based fibres and the reuse of cleaned fibres. The NordicBio project was concluded in September 2020.
Relooping Fashion was the first large project in which we participated in an expert role. It was one of the first investigations into closed loop recycling of textiles. The project led to the establishment of a new company, Infinited Fiber Company, which we have cooperated with closely since it started up.
